Businesses can significantly lower or eliminate their merchant processing costs.
With Dual Pricing, the consumer has a clear choice for their payment method. The displayed card price includes the cost of payment acceptance. In short, customers are shown two prices on the terminal: one that is a cash price and one that is a card price. The card price includes some or all of the processing costs to run the transaction. This encourages, but does not require the customer to pay in cash. They are given the ability to choose and part of that choice is to have processing savings passed on to them for paying in cash.
This program can also be applied to a merchant that has some or all of its business in an eCommerce setting.
Bonus!- This program would pair very well with having an ATM.
NOTE: To be in compliance with Visa's new rules as of April 2023, merchants will have to advertise their card price as the list price. Prior to this, merchants could keep the advertised price as the cash price, but Visa has clarified that they find this to be non-compliant.
